Empowering Local Innovation

Utica is a central point to Oneida County and the Mohawk Valley. I want to find ways to leverage our social capital in real sustainable economic development for the city. Never excluding, the needs of the inner-city and always addressing systemic issues of poverty.

Local Innovators are the bedrock of the community and the life-line of the city. Here is what I think we can do to better that.

Here are my 4 key focus of supporting local innovation

Support and Protect existing local business

Supporting local businesses and encouring business in the inner-city of Utica,NY

Promote Cooperatives

Look to way to promote community cooperatives that engage in all groups of life

Advocate for Cornhill

Seek ways to bring economic partnership between the City of Utica, Cornhill, and  Oneida County. Ensuring that investments made in the area no longer exclude Cornhill nor promises a false economic incentive for the inner city.

Education

There is no secret that socioeconomic issues prevent many from moving ahead. I believe that a way to minimize this is providing opportunity from the city that gives educational resources and tools to local and new innovators.
